GM 5.7 / 5.0 / 7.4 V8 Bypass Oil Filter Kit Designed for compatible GM 5.7L, 5.0L, and 7.4L V8 engines, this kit provides progressive 3-stage filtration down to 1 micron to help control oil contamination, reduce engine wear, and support longer engine life. Why choose it: Provides a direct pressure-side oil connection at the factory oil-filter location Avoids using the traditional factory pressure-port connection Creates a clean, application-specific connection point Matched sandwich plate and thread extender are designed to work together Recommended as the standard pressure-port choice for new installations Premium Insane Diesel design: Dual-seal design: aluminum-to-aluminum sealing plus an O-ring Precision-machined T6 billet aluminum sandwich plate Black-anodized finish Custom Insane Diesel engraving Correctly matched stainless-steel oil filter thread extender Includes: 1 Sandwich Plate with Thread Extender and fittings (AN06-02MP90) + (AN06-06FJ) Important installation and maintenance requirements: During initial installation: Clean the thread extender, apply Blue Loctite 242 or an equivalent threadlocker, and torque the thread extender to 35 ft-lb. At every oil-filter change: Check that the thread extender is torqued to 35 ft-lb. If the sandwich plate is removed: Replace the O-ring before reinstalling the plate. Do not reuse the old O-ring.
