RIFE TOOL-CRIB provides a centralized touchscreen station for managing shared industrial tools digitally. It is designed for factory tool cribs, maintenance stores, automotive plants, CNC workshops, aerospace maintenance operations and industrial equipment stores. Industrial Touchscreen Search tools, view availability, record issue-return transactions and access reports. RFID Employee Authentication Identify authorised users by RFID access card or optional PIN before transactions. Barcode / QR Tracking Scan each registered tool during issue and return. Standard configuration does not require RFID tags on tools. Existing Storage Compatible Works with tool cabinets, drawer cabinets, racks, shelves, maintenance stores and centralized tool cribs. TECHNOLOGY IN ACTION Six-step digital issue-and-return workflow. 1Employee Login Employee presents an authorised RFID card or enters a PIN. 2Search Tool Search by tool name, code, category or registered location and check availability. 3Scan Tool Retrieve the tool from its existing storage location and scan its barcode or QR code. 4Record Issue The system records the tool against the employee with an optional work-order reference. 5Return Tool Scan the tool again during return and place it back in its assigned storage location. 6Inventory Update The tool status updates and the transaction remains available in digital history. The standard TOOL-CRIB system records scan-based transactions. It does not independently detect unscanned tool movements from existing racks or cabinets. TOOL MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE Digital accountability for shared tools. Tool Master Register and categorize tools with assigned storage locations. Employee Database Assign tool access and responsibility to employees and departments. Issue & Return Barcode/QR-based issue and return transactions. Availability Track available, issued and unavailable status. Work Orders Associate tools with maintenance jobs or production references. Overdue Alerts Flag tools pending return based on recorded transactions. Calibration Records Store due dates, inspection and maintenance information. Audit History Maintain employee-linked transaction history and exportable reports. Multiple-station deployments and ERP / CMMS integration are planned/configuration-dependent and require project validation. INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS Designed for controlled shared-tool environments. Manufacturing Plants Track shared tools across production, assembly and maintenance teams. CNC Machine Shops Manage cutting tools, toolholders, measuring instruments and maintenance equipment. Automotive Manufacturing Record employee usage of assembly, torque and service tools. Aerospace & Aviation MRO Support controlled issue and return of maintenance and inspection tools. Industrial Maintenance Manage shared tools across technicians, departments and shifts. Utilities & Infrastructure Digitize tool-room records for maintenance and field-service operations. PHASED TOOL-ROOM MODERNIZATION Start with software. Upgrade storage where it adds value. Stage 1 — TOOL-CRIB Station Digital employee authentication, barcode-based issue and return, inventory records and reports using existing storage. Stage 2 — Add Smart Tool Lockers Introduce electronically controlled compartments for high-value tools, power tools and equipment kits. Stage 3 — Add RFID Smart Tool Cabinets Upgrade selected storage zones to automatic RFID identification of compatible tagged tools. This approach allows organizations to modernize tool management gradually while continuing to use existing infrastructure. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Key TOOL-CRIB questions. Can TOOL-CRIB work with our existing cabinets? Yes. The proposed barcode/QR configuration is designed to manage tools stored in existing cabinets, drawers, racks and shelves without requiring their replacement. Do we need RFID tags on every tool? No. Standard configuration uses barcode or QR labels on tools. RFID employee cards are used for user identification. RFID-based tool identification is an optional separate upgrade. Does it automatically detect a tool removed from a shelf? No. The standard system records tool movements when employees scan tools during issue and return. Can it track overdue tools? The proposed software includes overdue-tool monitoring based on recorded issue transactions and return deadlines. Can multiple departments use it? Departmental allocation and role-based access can be configured. Multi-station operation requires configuration and validation. Can it integrate with ERP or CMMS? Integration can be evaluated according to customer requirements, available APIs and the selected software configuration. Request a TOOL-CRIB DemonstrationView Smart Tool Management Range
