Sterling Silver Palmetto Charm - Shaggy

This solid 925 sterling silver pendant is a dazzling piece that measures approximately 3/4" in length and 5/8" across. The 1/4" pinch bail allows for easy addition to most chain thicknesses - even a classic 3mm rice bead! The Sabal (or Cabbage) Palmetto, South Carolina's state tree and feature of its flag, symbolizes resilience, specifically referencing the palmetto-log Fort Sullivan (now Fort Moultrie) that successfully withstood the British cannonball bombardment of June 28, 1776 - a crucial moment for the Revolutionary War resulting in the Royal Navy's first major defeat and a boost of morale amongst those seeking independence!
