2023 Carrascal Malbec
The 2023 Malbec Carrascal comes from three vineyards in Luján de Cuyo. It opens with red and black fruit, ripe plum and a touch of pink peppercorn, followed by notes of grape must, wax and rosehip. It is dry, with grippy tannins and some juiciness, and sits within a ripe-fruited profile. The wine pulls between freshness and maturity, and bottle age should help bring those elements into better alignment. - Vinous Named after a historic neighbourhood in Mendoza where clay amphorae were manufactured in the 19th century, the Carrascal line reflects the joviality and power of Mendoza fruit. A 100% Malbec from vineyards of Lujan de Cuyo of 15-50 years of age. Its ageing process of 18 months in large french oak casks which vary between 2000 - 6000 litres in capacity add earthiness to its typical ripe plums, dark cherries and violet notes. A perfect gaucho wine for roasted beef and vegetables.
