SUBTITLES: book one - Arianna Khmelniuk

The artist book "SUBTITLES: Book One" by Arianna Khmelniuk is a limited edition consisting of 100 numbered copies. It is part of the artwork REMOTE CONTROL, an art installation created as part of the group exhibition The Fifty-Fifth Annual UC Berkeley Master of Fine Arts Graduate Exhibition: The Currents Beneath, May 14–July 27, 2025, at BAMPFA, University of California, Berkeley. The book comes with a complimentary scented scratch-and-sniff bookmark. The bookmarks are available as takeaway tokens during the art show at BAMPFA, from May 14th until July 27th. The @movieolfaction Instagram page sprouted the first book in a series that encapsulates five years of artistic archival research. The database is growing and evolving; there’s no version of this project. The digital version exists in the form of an Are.na channel. You can find a spreadsheet version of the project here.
