RPO-32 Synthetic POE Refrigeration Oil — R-410A, R-32, R-134a, R-1234yf & A2L
Wrong oil after a retrofit = compressor failure inside a year. Mineral oil and PAG oil are not compatible with HFC and A2L refrigerants. RPO-32 is what you need. What it is RPO-32 is a synthetic polyol ester (POE) refrigeration oil with ISO VG 32 viscosity (32 cSt at 40°C). Compatible with R-134a, R-410A, R-32, R-1234yf, R-404A, R-407C, and A2L refrigerants. Use it to refill hermetic and scroll compressors after a line-set flush, during refrigerant retrofits (R-22 to R-410A), or as routine top-off in HVAC, refrigeration, and automotive A/C systems. Low moisture absorption, high thermal stability, full miscibility with HFC and HFO refrigerants. You'll also need HCPro Flash Flush — flush the line set before refill (mandatory after burnout) HCEC-6S 6 CFM Vacuum Pump — pull below 500 microns before recharge ISO VG46 Vacuum Pump Oil — fresh pump oil for deep evacuation Specs Type Synthetic Polyol Ester (POE) Viscosity ISO VG 32 (32 cSt at 40°C) Refrigerant compatibility R-134a, R-410A, R-32, R-1234yf, R-404A, R-407C, A2L blends Compressor compatibility Hermetic, scroll, rotary, piston Moisture absorption Low — controlled packaging Thermal stability High — engineered for high-pressure systems Sizes available 32 oz (quart), 128 oz (gallon), 6-pack quart, 12-pack quart, 4-pack gallon Origin Made in USA Frequently Asked Questions Is POE oil compatible with R-410A and A2L refrigerants? Yes. POE (polyol ester) is the industry-standard lubricant for HFC refrigerants like R-410A, R-134a, and R-404A, and is compatible with A2L blends (R-32, R-454B). Never use mineral oil or alkylbenzene with these refrigerants — they don't return to the compressor and cause failure. Can I use RPO-32 in a mini-split system? Yes — RPO-32 is rated for mini-split, VRF, central AC, and refrigeration scroll/rotary compressors. Always verify the OEM's specified viscosity (ISO VG 32 covers most R-410A and R-32 mini-splits; some heat pumps spec ISO VG 68). How much oil do I add after a flush or retrofit? Match the compressor manufacturer's spec. Most residential R-410A scroll compressors hold 25–40 oz; mini-splits typically 8–18 oz. After a burnout flush, drain all old oil from the compressor first, then refill to OEM spec. Will RPO-32 work in older R-22 systems? Use POE only if you're retrofitting the R-22 system to R-410A or R-32. Standard R-22 systems use mineral oil — switching to POE without retrofit can change oil return behavior. POE is fully miscible with mineral oil during retrofit transitions. Why is moisture control so important with POE oil? POE oils are hygroscopic — they absorb moisture from the air much faster than mineral oil. Moisture in the system creates acid, which destroys compressors. Keep the bottle sealed until use, and never leave POE oil exposed to atmosphere.
