Imagine that first bite of a gooey chocolate brownie in whisky form. A London Rye matured in a Chocolate Stout cask, this one's rich, chocolatey and juicy. Wow, has that chocolate stout cask delivered! Notes of rich, indulgent dark chocolate brownie are joined by a hint of spice from the rye, juicy black cherries, cocoa-dusted almonds, and a warm and nutty finish. This whisky is made up of 55% Malted Rye + 45% Malted Barley, meaning you get this buttery, brioche-y note in the whisky rather than the heavy spice note you can sometimes get from a 100% Rye whisky. Only 344 bottles created. Cask: Hackney Brewery Chocolate Stout Distilled: 16/12/2019 Bottled: 02/02/2023 Strength: 49.9%abv Non-chill filtered and no caramel colouring (ever!) Cacao nib notes leap to the fore woven through with ripe woodland fruits and a hint of straw. There is some firm pepperiness on the finish but it is nicely balanced with honeyed vanilla - just a few drops of water accentuate the nuttiness and woody spice.
