This incredibly clever and beautiful switch box was created by Dan Baines at Lebanon Circle Magic, and what an absolute miracle it is 🙂 I have over a hundred card boxes in my collection, and although this is far more than a simple card box, as a switch box it is totally awesome — and if you know me personally, you know I reserve the word awesome for the Grand Canyon and similarly awe‑inspiring sights. When I ordered it, I expected a cool-looking switch box in the vein of the Switch Witch. But once it arrived and I started working through the routines in the 111‑page manual, my respect for it kept climbing. The glass lid is the game‑changer. It adds an entirely new dimension to what a switch box can do. Locked behind glass, your precious things can be observed in a dust-free environment away from the spectator’s sticky fingers. Available in various finishes with interchangeable lids and swappable interiors, every collector of magical oddities can use a Vitrum Ostium. But wait, there’s more. Vitrum Ostium is also the first ever glass-topped switch box. There have been transparent switch boxes in the past, but nothing compares to what can be achieved with Vitrum Ostium. For the first time, switched items can appear outside the box, think Card Thru Glass, but in the palm of your hand. Perform transformations, and materialise 3D objects inside a once-empty box, ideal for apports during a seance.
