Culinary Toile - Biscuit

Dan Funderburgh’s Culinary Toile is a witty tribute to historic woodblock prints illustrating a clever blend of countryside scenes that feature food related content. From giant pasta makers to teams carrying loads of asparagus to toaster farmhouses, each scene takes a classic pastoral concept and adds a gastronomic twist. While the overall aesthetic leans European, the food focus includes sushi rolls in lieu of hay rolls and avocados acting as birdbaths to round out the global appeal and inclusion. Biscuit is a warm and comforting colorway with light tan accents, goldenrod midtones, and honey brown handscreened on linen clay coated paper. Dan Funderburgh's witty, contemporary twist on traditional wallpaper illustrations made him the first Flavor Paper artist collaboration in 2005. We've been creating beautifully mischievous and irreverent wallpapers since. Dan has an uncanny ability to mash up geometric and floral patterns with classical and comical content.
