Gestures Bud Vases

Gestures bud vases carry the same photographic transfers as the plates, wrapped onto a porcelain form with a narrow neck. The figure has to bend around the curve, so the pose reads differently from every angle. The image sits in the glaze rather than on it, rendered in oxide tones of brown. Made as part of Radical Presence. Each vase is one of a kind, built and finished by hand in Detroit, and numbered and dated by the artist.
