Acustop Acoustic MDF Slimline Overlay Board is a low-profile acoustic floor overlay from the Tekfon Acustop range, made up of a 100% twice recycled 10mm PET resilient mat bonded to a 9mm moisture resistant MDF facing. It is laid as a floating floor over an existing timber or concrete subfloor to reduce impact and structure-borne noise passing between storeys. It is an overlay rather than a structural deck, so it is installed fully supported over a subfloor that already carries the load, and it is designed to work alongside a recognised acoustic ceiling treatment below. The whole build-up adds 19mm to the finished floor level, and for most buyers that is the deciding figure.
