Vintage Gilt Metal Mirror, Rococo Style Pierced Frame, Decorative Wall Mirror

An attractive vintage gilt metal mirror in the Rococo Revival taste, with a shaped, arched top and pierced scrolling decoration throughout the frame. The metal frame is cast with acanthus scrolls, shell motifs, and a beaded inner border, finished in a warm gilt tone with an aged patina that gives it real character. The mirror plate follows the shaped outline of the frame, with a waisted lower section and a decorative shell-and-scroll cresting at the top and base. The open, pierced design of the outer frame gives the piece a light, ornamental feel well suited to a hallway, bathroom, or as an accent piece above a console table or mantle. Condition Good vintage condition. Some old wear, scuffing, and small losses to the gilt finish consistent with age, particularly to the higher points of the moulding, giving it an attractive lived-in patina. The mirror plate has light foxing in places, typical of vintage glass. Backed with hardboard and fitted with a hanging bracket, ready to hang.
