Forty-seven slats of limed European oak stand shoulder to shoulder across a 45-inch headboard, their pale faces catching the morning light like reeds at the edge of a Nordic lake. The effect is rhythmic, almost musical — a palisade in miniature, softened by the timber’s bleached warmth. Beneath it, the storage base rests in silent architectural certainty. A bed that composes the wall behind it and the floor beneath it in a single breath. — THE ANATOMY The Kaldr is milled from Grade-A European Oak — FSC certified, kiln-dried to 8% moisture content for lifelong dimensional stability. The Light Oak finish is achieved through a hand-applied liming process that accentuates the open grain without obscuring it, sealed with a penetrating natural oil at a satin sheen. The headboard rises 114.3 cm (45 in) as a full-width architectural panel composed of individually milled vertical oak slats, each mortise-seated into a continuous rail above and below. The storage base incorporates Italian-engineered hydraulic gas-lift pistons that raise the full FSC beech slat platform — 18 slats with graduated ergonomic flex tension, seated 24.1 cm (9½ in) above the floor — to reveal the full mattress-footprint storage compartment beneath. The footboard stands at 30.5 cm (12 in). No veneers. No MDF. No composite fillers. — THE HULMARA PROMISE Every Kaldr frame is signed by its maker and stamped with a build date. Static load-tested to 480 kg (1,058 lbs) and dynamic-tested to 340 kg (750 lbs) under the Hulmara Silent-Sleep protocol: zero audible movement, zero joint migration over 10,000 cycles. The hydraulic lift mechanism is tested through 25,000 open-close cycles and covered by a 10-year mechanical warranty.
