Curator: What we liked most was the restraint. The raised and recessed dots hint at an explosion of light, while the simple form remains easy to read at a glance. The Lemnos Fireworks is a modern desk clock with a minimalist design inspired by a firework frozen in time. Instead of numerals or printed markers, designer Kanaé Tsukamoto uses raised and recessed hour markers to give the clock face depth while keeping the time easy to read. Winner of the Red Dot Design Award, Fireworks demonstrates how a simple arrangement of dots can create a memorable clock without compromising readability.
