My artwork begins with vibrant layers of color, flowing shapes, and expressive abstract backgrounds. As the paint develops, I begin to see creatures, faces, and whimsical characters emerging from the shapes. This intuitive process is inspired by a fascinating phenomenon called pareidolia, which is the natural ability of the mind to recognize images and patterns within abstract forms. What begins as free-flowing color slowly transforms as I discover the hidden personalities inside the painting. I then bring those creatures to life with details, expression, and movement. Because of this process, many viewers find that they notice new images or hidden details each time they look at the artwork. Through my Sincerely Joy collection, these original paintings are transformed into colorful home décor and wearable art, including tapestries, blankets, journals, clothing, and accessories. My goal is to bring a sense of wonder, imagination, and positivity into everyday spaces.
