Overview The Tudor Black Bay 54 returns Tudor to 37mm, the case dimension of the 1954 Reference 7922, the original Tudor dive watch, in a way neither the BB58 nor the BB41 attempted. The line launched in 2023; the 79000-0001, officially Lagoon Blue, is a colourway Tudor added to the range for summer 2025, not the launch configuration. Where the BB58 interprets the vintage diving aesthetic through a contemporary 39mm case, the BB54 replicates the original dimension directly and then makes a colour argument on top of it. The case is 37mm stainless steel, 11.24mm thick, polished and satin-brushed, sized to the 1954 reference rather than the modern Black Bay family. The bezel is a 60-minute unidirectional dive bezel with a mirror-polished steel insert and a tone-on-tone scale in negative relief rather than printed markings, a deliberate nod to the 7922's simplicity. The light blue textured dial carries applied markers and Tudor's snowflake hour hand, paired with a pencil minute hand and lollipop seconds hand, all filled with Super-LumiNova; no date window, keeping the dial symmetrical and the mid-century read intact. The five-link steel bracelet closes with Tudor's T-fit clasp. The movement is Calibre MT5400: Tudor's in-house automatic, COSC-certified to ±4 seconds per day, with a silicon balance spring and 70-hour power reserve. Within the BB54 range, Lagoon Blue is the configuration with niche appeal, reading brighter than the line's launch dials, and the five-link steel bracelet pairs with it correctly.
