Pra Morandina, Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore 2021

This is a remarkably elegant and finessed Ripasso. The traditional method of refermenting a young Valpolicella on the lees of Recioto or Amarone (which are made with dried grapes) adds richness and complexity, and here imparts some fig, plum jam and orange peel character, whilst staying succulent, mineral and fine. Very food friendly, especially when paired with Italian sausage.
