The defining feature is the tapered face on one side of the piston — a simple but highly effective design that lets you change the damping characteristic on either the extension or compression side by simply flipping the mounting direction. Place the tapered side toward the bottom of the shock to soften extension feel, or flip it toward the shock cap to soften the compression side — giving you targeted, direction-specific tuning without changing oil weight or spring rates. The 1.1mm piston holes are cut at a diagonal slope relative to the shock's operating direction, creating a fluid dynamics effect that generates higher damping force during sudden sharp inputs to suppress chassis disturbance, while allowing smooth, supple movement during normal low-speed drift operation. The 6-hole design is developed exclusively for drift applications where ultra-soft shock settings are the norm. Standard pistons with fewer holes can allow oil film depletion between the O-ring and shock shaft when using soft oil — the 6-hole layout maintains adequate oil flow when running approximately 300cSt shock oil, preventing momentary shaft binding and keeping damping feel consistent throughout the run.
