The MRX SG is the most advanced RF marker locator in Radiodetection’s MRX range, combining precision cable and pipe locating, RF marker detection and survey-grade GNSS mapping in a single handheld tool. Ideal for utility locators, asset owners, surveyors and infrastructure teams, it lets crews trace buried services, pinpoint marker balls and capture accurate positional data in one pass — no separate handheld GPS required. Seven active antenna modes, 21 locate frequencies and integrated RTK GNSS give the operator the flexibility to work in congested networks and record what they find with confidence. StrikeAlert, haptic feedback and Dynamic Overload Protection keep the operator informed in electrically noisy environments. Locator Key Features: Maximum Depth Readout: 30m Cable/Pipe, 19.5m Sonde, 5m RF Markers Depth Measurement Precision: ±3% (Cable/Pipe/Sonde); ±15% ±5cm (RF Markers, type dependent) Locate Accuracy: ±5% of depth GNSS Position Accuracy: 0.01m + 1ppm CEP (RTK) Battery Life: Up to 15 hours (50% duty cycle) Size: 687mm x 350mm x 177mm Weight: Approx. 2.6kg Triple functionality — utility locating, RF marker detection and high-accuracy mapping Integrated survey-grade GNSS with GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS and SBAS support Nine RF marker frequencies covering power, telecoms, gas, water, sewer and CATV markers Seven active antenna modes: Peak, Peak+, Guidance, Broad Peak, Null, RF Marker, and Combined 21 active locate frequencies from ELF to 200kHz, plus 5 user-programmable frequencies (50Hz–1kHz, 1Hz resolution) All sonde frequencies (512Hz, 640Hz, 8kHz, 33kHz) 4kHz locate frequency with CD for tracing high-impedance lines such as twisted pair telecoms and street lighting 14 Current Direction pairs to confirm the operator is following the target utility Five passive modes: Power, Radio, CPS, CATV and Passive Avoidance Power Filters to discriminate between individual power cables using mains harmonics Simultaneous depth and current readout Full 360° compass line direction indicator StrikeAlert warns of utilities detected shallower than 30cm via audio, visual and vibration alerts Dynamic Overload Protection (40dB) for use near substations and heavy mains infrastructure SideStep shifts locate and transmitter frequency out of interfering signals Swing warning and haptic vibration feedback Stores up to 1,000 survey points on board with appended GPS data Bluetooth live or batch export, plus USB-C export via RD Manager Online Compatible with Android and iOS mapping apps; supports NTRIP / RTCM v3.x correction services Data export to .csv, .xls/.xlsx and .kml for Google Earth Fault finding (8KFF and CDFF) to 100mm accuracy with the accessory A-Frame iLOC wireless transmitter control up to 450m Sunlight-readable high-contrast display and waterproofed speaker with 3.5mm headphone socket Enhanced on-unit self-test, eCert remote calibration and CALSafe maintenance enforcement 14 on-screen languages Standards: Ingress Protection – IP65 (antenna loop IP55) EN 61010-1:2010 / A1:2019 EN 61326-1:2021 EN 300 330, EN 300 328, EN 303 413 RoHS and WEEE compliant Suitable Industries: Electricity distribution and utilities ASP / Level 2 electrical contractors Civil construction and earthmoving Telecommunications and fibre Gas distribution Water and sewer authorities Local government and municipal asset management Professional locating and surveying firms Mining, ports and large industrial sites Supplied with lithium-ion battery pack, mains charger and lead, phone holder, USB lead and user guide.
