18th Century Welsh Oak Panelled Coffer

A beautifully proportioned 18th century Welsh oak panelled coffer, or blanket box, with a lovely warm tone and richly developed patina. The front is decorated with three elegant arched panels, framed by moulded rails, and raised on sturdy stile feet. The wonderful colour and character of the oak are a real feature of this piece, with a pleasing depth of colour, natural grain and mellow surface patina that can only be achieved through age.
