Chaser belonged to Dr. John Pilley, a Psychology Professor interested in studying animal intelligence. Dr. Pilley managed to teach Chaser over 1,000 different words, a remarkable vocabulary for any dog. He would work for hours with Chaser, teaching her the names of various toys & then asking her to go and retrieve the specific one he asked for.
