Where a piece of Pelikan’s history becomes a writing instrument: Pelikan M600 Art Collection Fountain Pen - Georg Tippel (Special Edition) In 2026, Pelikan introduced the third edition of the Pelikan Art Collection, which draws inspiration from “Grundfarben”, an artwork created by Georg Tippel in 1899 for Pelikan’s first poster competition. More than a century later, elements of this historic design are reimagined in the Souverän M600. Tippel's original poster shows a pelican feeding its young — a symbol of devotion and responsibility that became Pelikan's emblem. This edition does not reproduce that image; it takes the sky behind it. Pelikan transforms the flowing cloud formations of the original poster into an abstract, rhythmic pattern across the barrel. Warm shades of brown and gold bring the artwork’s historic character into a contemporary writing instrument, framed by semi-transparent warm brown resin and gold-plated details. The barrel is created using Pelikan’s distinctive "Aurora process": Guilloché: Fine engraved structures on the brass barrel to create texture and movement beneath the surface. Lacquering: Multiple layers of lacquer are applied on the barrel to give the unique design depth and a luminous finish. Polishing: As light moves across the barrel's transparent and high-gloss finish, the engraved pattern reveals a subtle shimmering effect underneath. Built on the classic Souverän M600, the pen features Pelikan’s piston-filling mechanism and a smooth two-tone 14K gold nib, available in EF, F, M and B. Presented in a special book-style Art Collection gift box, accompanied by a miniature reproduction of Georg Tippel’s original “Grundfarben” poster.
