Vintage Turnidge Cocktail Cabinet – Art Deco / MCM Style A fabulous vintage Turnidge cocktail cabinet, professionally refinished to a high standard while retaining its wonderful original character and fittings. Turnidge were known for their ingenious vintage cocktail and drinks cabinets, and this one certainly has a few tricks up its sleeve. Compact when closed, it sits on wheels and can be completely rotated, while the sides open out and the top folds down to transform it into a fabulous home cocktail bar. More about Turnidge of London: Turnidge was a British furniture maker best known for its mid-century modern designs of the 1960s and 70s, featuring sleek, clean lines, teak construction and distinctive geometric forms. Originally a family business based in London, Turnidge became particularly renowned for its high-quality standalone cocktail bars and drinks cabinets, as well as bookcases, display cabinets and compact bureaus. The company later moved production to Sudbury, Suffolk, before ceasing production in the early 1980s. I wanted to enhance its natural Art Deco / Mid Century style rather than disguise the original features. The cabinet has been refinished in Fusion Mineral Paint Coal Black, with black striped detailing. The original wood has been enhanced with Stain & Finishing Oil in Ebony, giving it a deeper, richer finish while still allowing the beauty and character of the wood to show through. The practical wood effect formica top remains - perfect for serving drinks! Inside you’ll find the original Turnidge fittings, including fitted bottle storage. The cocktail strainer and tray were added as fun styling props for the photographs, but I’m very happy to include those too if the new owner would like them. This is a real statement piece and a wonderful find for anyone searching for a Turnidge cocktail cabinet, vintage drinks cabinet, Art Deco cocktail cabinet or unique home bar.
