Most of the modern rings we find are often horribly hollow. And whilst we appreciate the ingenuity of being able to make gold appear more than it is - we don't love it for longevity. So finding this beauty was a win - because it is solid. And even better - it is rose gold. Of all the pieces we see only about 5% are rose gold - so this really was a win. Wishbone rings are also called v-shaped rings or chevron rings - but we like the name wishbone for its symbolism. Named after the V-shaped bones in a bird's chest that used to be dried after a roast and pulled for luck these rings are said to symbolise good luck and the hope that wishes do come true. Set with grain or bead set graduated natural diamonds we love the rhodium plated base to this with the glints of rose gold peeking back through in the claws. Stacks like a dream. Particulars: Size J or 4.75 (sizeable - up particularly - rose god can be harder to match for colour so it may leave faint lines) Weight 1.7g Width at its widest over the wishbone 2.8mm x 2.1mm proud tapering to 1.6 x 1.15mm Stones - natural diamonds -tapering on both sides 0.7mm, 0.7mm, 1.0mm, 1.4mm, 1.2mm, 0.6mm. approx 0.1ct combined Hallmarks "375" "CG" Condition - surface scratches, the settings have been rhodium plated - the claw tips are coming back to rose gold and we like the subtly of this - you can of course choose to rhodium plate the setting back to bright white if you wish. Care - As a general rule - jewellery should not be worn for strenuous tasks that may put pressure, chemicals and weight on them (think cleaning, gym, swimming/spa, carrying things).
