Between Us

This painting is really about connection. One of the things I love most about horse racing is the relationship between the horse and the jockey—the trust, respect, and something else I can't put my finger on... I’m drawn to these quieter moments behind the scenes. I'm also fascinated by racing silks. The bold colors and luminous sheen of the fabric is a welcomed challenge. Stylistically, this painting represents a newer direction in my work. While my paintings are often rooted in realism, I’ve been exploring more eclectic and contemporary compositions that feel playful, bold, and unexpected. Thank you for supporting a local artist!
