Workshop, Mini Loom Beaded Earrings
This workshop will run for 4 hours. Shanelle will help students in pattern development, teach you how to string up your loom, bead on the loom, remove the pieces from the loom and finish it off with hardware. They will provide you with a recommended size to work with based on the time allotted for this workshop. You will have multiple bead options to choose from in various colours using standard size 11/0 cylin and/or delica beads. All materials are included in the cost of the workshop: loom, thread, needle, scissors, pliers, tweezers, beads, jewelry glue, hardware, and lighters as well as markers and paper for planning. Date: August 15 Time 1pm - 5pm Artist Bio: Shanelle St. Hilaire is a multi-disciplinary artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba (Treaty One Territory), and a member of the Red River Metis community. Specializing in painting, craft, and more recently, beadwork, sound, and digital programming, St. Hilaire's practice is rooted in research and process, with a focus on materiality and technique. She earned her honours BFA from the School of Art at the University of Manitoba in 2023. St. Hilaire is an active board member of CARFAC Manitoba and a member of the Nocturne Collective. Her work explores diverse themes, including plant science, gender identity, and the human nature connection, often framed through feminist perspectives.
