Costa Rica Coopelmares

Origin: Alajuela, Costa Rica Process: Eco-pulped Flavor Profile: Bright + Fruity Tasting Notes: Raspberry, Milk Chocolate, Orange We were intrigued by the long-standing relationship between the importer Royal Coffee and the producers of this coffee, the Cooperativa de Caficultores y de Servicios Múltiples de Palmares (Coopepalmares). When we tasted the coffee we understood why Royal has worked with these farmers for decades – it is a pleasure to drink, with notes of fresh raspberry, milk chocolate, and orange, with secondary notes of black tea and plum. Eco-pulping is a processing technique that is very similar to the more well-known honey process. Eco-pulping devices can process coffee using roughly a tenth of the water needed for traditional washing, making it a more affordable and sustainable practice, especially for smaller farms.
