Once again we’re bringing you top new whiskies hot off the press! Plus a particularly intriguing Danish malt… The Glendronach - Ode to the Dark: Glendronach, founded in 1826, has become synonymous with rich, sherried goodness. Master blender Dr. Rachel Barrie tells us that “Ode to the Dark enrobes velvet chocolate over dark plum and black cherry, caramelised dates and coffee, to bask the Glendronach in rich splendour.” Here, unlike the other two releases in the distillery’s Master's Anthology, maturation takes place solely in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. Big, bold, and intense. One for the sherry bomb fans. Glasgow 1770 7 Year Old Ruby Port Cask Finish (Unpeated): Returning whisky distilling to the city of Glasgow for the first time in a century back in 2015, the distillery produces both peated and unpeated spirit (and some triple-distilled too). Here we have their fresh and fruity stlye - double distilled and unpeated - but this limited edition batch was finished in four Ruby Port hogsheads, producing 1,200 bottles. It is, of course, non-chill filtered and natural colour. Tormore 12 Year Old: ‘The Pearl of Speyside’ has a brand new core range, launched in July 2026, and we’re wasting little time bringing what we believe to be the highlight into your glasses. Built in 1959, Tormore’s a distillery that broke the mould architecturally, and also features purifiers on all the stills. These increase reflux, condensing heavier vapours and sending them back to the still, which contributes to the spirit’s light, fruity style. This peachy 12 Year Old was aged in bourbon, cream sherry, and toasted American white oak casks. Fary Lochan 6 Year Old 2016 Single Cask (Master of Malt): Inspired by the traditional smoked soft cheese (fynsk rygeost) his mother made on the island of Funen, which was smoked with nettles, Jens-Erik Jørgensen began distilling a unique Danish whisky using malt smoked with freshly forest-foraged nettles instead of peat back in 2009. Something his family have proudly continued following his death in 2016. Intriguing, herbaceous, and yummy single cask whisky independently bottled by Master of Malt. Benromach 12 Year Old: Hot off the press once again, the official release date of this new whisky was 3 Sep 2026! Benromach was built in 1898, but its modern era began in 1993 when legendary independent bottler Gordon & MacPhail became owners. It took until 1998 to revive it, at which point they concentrated on an old-school, all but forgotten, lightly smoky Speyside style. Unlike the rest of the Benromach core range, this brand new 12 Year Old is matured exclusively in first-fill sherry casks and bottled at 46% ABV.
