Sancerre "Cuvée Marnes & Caillottes" Jean-Max Roger 2025

The Jean-Max Roger Sancerre Cuvée Marnes et Caillottes is a considerably fresh and energetic wine reflecting its varied terroirs. Sourced from two diverse types of soil – Kimmeridgian and limestone – there is also a range of vineyard ages within the blend, from 5 to 40 years. The minerality is exceptional, and when considered alongside the acidity, gives the wine an energetic feel in the mouth, almost like a sparkling but without the bubbles. Citrus zest, apple, melon and a flinty, briny character are all richly on display, with some subtle stone fruit notes underneath. It's an ideal wine for pairing with food, but it's also fantastic just by itself.
