Woolly Tea Tree - Leptospermum lanigerum (SEEDS)

Family: Myrtaceae Characteristics: Shrub 3 m spread 2 m The Woolly Tea-tree, scientifically known as Leptospermum lanigerum, is a durable shrub with medium size and grey-green leaves. Its popular name comes from the hairy capsules and silky hairs present on branches and leaves. During Spring / Summer, it produces profuse white five petal flowers. This plant is highly versatile, making it suitable for use as a hedge or screening plant. It is endemic to Australia and can be found in a variety of habitats, particularly in New South Wales, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria. It can thrive in various climates and soil types, as long as it is placed in a sunny or partially shaded area. While it can withstand frost down to -7°C, it grows best in moist soil and requires adequate water supply in dry conditions.
