These beauties love a sunny area, especially in a more wet spot, but can do well in a drier spot that is mulched and watered to retain moisture. Hardy Hibiscus are butterfly favorites, with lots of pollen and nectar on their stamens. They are also deer and critter resistant. Midnight Marvel features deep purple foliage and eye-catching scarlet red blooms. The flowers on this hardy hibiscus are massive, up to 9" across. The more sun it receives, the deeper the leaf color becomes, so be sure to find a sunny spot to really get that depth of color. Midnight Marvel matures to 4 foot tall and wide.
