The Rattray's Blends tobacco sample bag contains 8 Rattray's finest: Hal O' The Wynd Dark Virginias with Perique and fire cured Kentucky are the backdrop to this robust blend. Cool, slow burning and packs a punch. Medium strong with a decent nicotine hit the Perique brigs tangy and spicy notes, the woody and nuttiness is added by the Kentucky, the natural sweetness is provided by the dark Viginias. Highland Targe A unique blend of Oriental, Turkish, Black Cavendish, Virginias and Latakia that could easily become an all day blend. The Latakia just makes itself known without being intrusive, which allows the other tobaccos to add their bit. Not a bad one to begin exploring English mixtures as it doesnt get too heavy and overbearing. Another good all dayer. Brown Clunee Virginias, Kentucky and Perique pressed into a broken flake, grassy hay flavours mixed with spice from the Perique and nuttiness from the Kentucky. Mild and mellow with natural leaf flavours that provide a cool and mellow smoke. 7 Reserve A light English mixture made from a blend of Virginia, Black Cavendish, Oriental and Latakia leaves. A good one for those beginning to discover Latakia blends. Medium bodied ribbon cut for easy packing and lighting. Tower Bridge Gold and red Virginias, combined with sweet Black Cavendish and a top dressing of rum, vanilla and tropical fruits make this a pleasant aromatic that can be enjoyed anywhere. Mild to medium, in a broken flake format for a cool and long smoke. A nice room note and definitely one for the aromatic aficionados. Exotic A zesty orange hit with mango, vanilla and maple syrup essences added to a blend of bright golden Virginias, Burley and Black Cavendish. A big tasting mild to medium strength aromatic mixture with a fantastic room note, ribbon cut for ease of lighting and packing. Rich and sweet and one for the those who like flavoured blends. Bagpipers Dream Black Cavendish mixed with Golden Virginias are the base. A cognac casing makes this a distinct experience, one not to be missed. Old Gowrie A nice blend of Virginias, dark fired Kentucky and Perique tobaccos, pressed into a broken flake that's medium in strength and nicotine with natural tobacco flavours. Little preparation is needed to enjoy a cool everday tobacco that burns slow and steady.
