Island Single Malt Scotch Whisky Bottled by: Douglas Laing 70cl / 51.9% A superb old Arran single malt from Douglas Laing’s prestigious Xtra Old Particular Black series, distilled in February 1997 and bottled in October 2023 at 26 years old. Arran Distillery began production at Lochranza in 1995, making this 1997 vintage a particularly early example of the distillery’s spirit, produced just two years after it opened. Arran’s character is typically clean and fruity, with citrus, orchard fruit and sweet malt notes developing greater richness and complexity with extended maturation. This 26-year-old Arran was matured in a single refill butt, yielding just 306 bottles at a natural cask strength of 51.9%. As with Douglas Laing’s XOP releases, it was bottled without colouring or chill filtration. A rare opportunity to try exceptionally mature whisky from the formative years of Arran Distillery. Douglas Laing's Tasting Notes: “The nose delivers caramel and vanilla, all on the palate, malt, apples and white pineapple.
