Species: White Oak Size: 12x19 inches Core: MDF Thickness: 1/8th inch Sided: Double Sided Finishing: Finished White Oak varies in color from light to medium brown with an olive, yellow or reddish tint. It has straight grain, with medium bending and crushing strengths making this excellent steam bending material. It is strong and beautiful. It glues, stains and finishes well. White Oak is the state tree of Connecticut, Illinois, and Maryland. Laser Compatibility: All Diode and CO2. Note: Glowforge does not recommend using MDF in the Aura or Spark. We have tested the MDF and it cuts well but creates more particulate matter which can raise issues with the filter. Venting outside seems to be fine as well as cleaning the machine after but you can decide if MDF is used in your Spark or Aura
