BELMONT BEACH WEIRDOS: Beach Hard With… LP

Has to be one the best Surf albums of the last few years, and we have an inkling of what good surf music is having released a many albums by Messer Chups, 50 Ft Combo & Vice Barons to name but a couple. Inspired in part by Gary Usher’s (Original 60’s Surf Combo, The Weird-ohs), The Deadly Ones, The Ghastly Ones, Messer Chups & Agent Orange (anything but the dressing up, Star Trek outfits, Chinos & Hawaiin Shirt brigade, Jan & Dean, Beach Boys Dippy Surf). Side one kicks of with something you’d expect The Cramps would sound like if they played Surf, the second track is a fast paced, twangy stomper While the 3rd track is a killer Mash Up of Brand New Cadillac, Rock Lobster, Miserlou, the 4th track takes from a traditional football chant and sounds like vintage Empti Fish. 5th Track an obvious nod to Agent Orange…. And so on and so on. Personally, I haven’t tired of Playimg this on repitition yet. 5 Stars ! Top notch production from Doyley, Whom without his skills, this wouldn’t sound half as great Big Thanks to Darren Merinuk for Sleeve design and artwork.
