Raide Women's LF Hardshell Jacket

Your ski touring shell spends most of the season folded in the bottom of your pack, which is exactly why it has to work perfectly the one afternoon you need it. The Women's Raide TourTech Shell Jacket is built around that reality: light and packable enough that you will carry it every day, tough enough to handle rock, ice, and tree branches when you are wearing it. The face fabric is a 20d x 20d weave of 96.5% nylon and 3.5% UHMWPE, a high-strength fiber that adds tear resistance without adding weight, finished with a PFC free Super DWR from Huntsman Zelan R3. Under it sits a microporous hydrophobic polypropylene membrane with a 20d jersey backer, rated to 30,000mm hydrostatic head and 30,000 g/m2/24hr of moisture transfer, with air permeability of .2 CFM. Total fabric weight is 82gsm and the jacket comes in at 358 grams in a Small. A dedicated beacon pocket keeps your transceiver where it belongs, the cut carries the same freeride inspired fit as the men's version, and sizes run XS through L. That combination is what makes this hardshell worth the space it takes up: waterproof enough for a day of storm skiing, breathable enough to leave on during a climb out, and low enough in air permeability to cut wind on an exposed ridgeline. Pack it for every tour and forget about it until the weather makes the decision for you.
