Evening Light, Venice

For my latest watercolour landscape tutorial, I have chosen this slightly simpler, less detailed subject: Evening light in Venice. Here we start off with a unifying wash completely covering the piece of paper, before adding in the row of distant buildings, with only a limited amount of detail. Then we come to the slightly more detailed gondola and figures, before finishing off with a little foreground work on the water. I think it makes a great little atmospheric scene that’s fun to paint.
