Banda Bed Board

The Banda Bed Board is built on restraint. Its headboard is solid wood in a warm honey tone, the natural grain left entirely exposed across the lower half, no paint, no distressing, no intervention. At the top, two horizontal bands of hand carved geometric pattern run edge to edge, dense and precise, the kind of carving that takes time to read properly. The decision to confine the detail to the crown of the headboard is what makes the piece work: the plain wood below gives the carving room to breathe, and the carving gives the plain wood a reason to be noticed. In the room it sits easily alongside natural textures and simple linens, warm enough to anchor the space without competing with anything around it.
