Shimenawa Bangle 2027 Model | Bold — Brass × Silver925 A bangle built from the rope, shide, and tassel elements seen in Japanese shimenawa (sacred rope). Rather than copying the traditional form as mere decoration, it is reconstructed as a small sculpture worn on the wrist. A brass rope paired with Silver925 shide and tassels — five charms that sway quietly as you move, catching the light differently with every angle and gesture. The Bold model is the series' most powerful piece, carrying the heaviest presence. It was finished to let you enjoy the contrast between the thick, twisted rope and the delicate movement of the shide and tassels. About the 2027 Model The 2027 model increases the charm count from 4 to 5, following the real structure of shimenawa: an even number of shide, an odd number of tassels. The Bold model carries 2 shide and 3 tassels. The shide have been reshaped with the sharper, crisper outline of the original first-generation model, and every charm now bears the maker's engraved signature mark on its reverse. Background This series began with a sculpture — an arm roughly 3 meters tall, exhibited at Shimogamo Shrine. Real shimenawa rope was wrapped around its wrist, with shide hanging from it. This bangle reconstructs that large-scale sculptural image into a form that can be worn on your own wrist. Each piece is finished by hand individually, so the texture of the rope, the engraving, and the finish vary slightly from piece to piece. Forcing the bangle open wide or bending it strongly can cause deformation or damage — please handle it gently when putting it on or taking it off. If you have a metal allergy, please check the materials before purchasing. Damage to the jump rings connecting the charms is repaired free of charge for one year from purchase. Lost charms are repaired at the customer's expense. About the Maker Kenichi Asano After 20 years restoring Buddhist statues, he became a contemporary sculptor.
