DESIGN STUDY 019 2017 American Full-Size Luxury SUV Some designs are meant to make everyone agree. This isn’t one of them. This study takes a full-size American luxury SUV and pushes it into the space where luxury, urban culture and customization meet. The Deep Red Gumball High Gloss exterior immediately establishes the attitude, while the air-suspension stance, discontinued DUB cast-aluminum wheels with Midnight Black High Gloss lips and chrome highlights, and rugged staggered deep-dish tires give the SUV a distinctly urban presence. The goal wasn’t to make it look like every other luxury SUV. It was to see how far that luxury could move into the street without losing what made it luxurious in the first place. Inside, the contrast becomes richer. Roasted Pepper Burgundy suede covers the cabin with Warmstone Beige suede accents across the door panels, while Napoleon Black suede continues through the headliner and steering wheel. Burnt Red and Black stitching adds subtle definition, while Burberry’s Archival Vintage Check is incorporated into the center of each seat in a cotton-blend twill, stitched seamlessly into the upholstery. The concept is completed with a CRISPY sound system featuring 11 speakers, eight tweeters, a bass-tube subwoofer, two power-boost amplifiers finished in Deep Red Gumball High Gloss, and a digital equalizer.
