Roland VG4-640 TrueVIS 64-Inch Print & Cut Printer

Roland VG4-640 TrueVIS 64-Inch Print & Cut Printer

Brand: Roland

Roland VG4-640 Overview The Roland TrueVIS VG4-640 is a 64-inch eco-solvent printer/cutter designed for signmakers and commercial print businesses producing larger graphics alongside everyday vinyl work. Its maximum printing and cutting width is 1,600 mm, with support for roll media from 335 mm to 1,625 mm wide and rolls up to 45 kg. Check artwork width, margins and finishing allowance against the actual output limit rather than the nominal 64-inch format. The wider format gives you more room to plan vehicle-wrap panels, banners, fleet graphics, shop displays, posters and window graphics. Where a design fits within the available width, you may be able to avoid splitting it into narrower panels. The benefit depends on the artwork, margins and media; wider media does not automatically make every job faster or reduce material use. The VG4-640 can also print and contour cut suitable stickers, labels and decals on one system. Choose a TR3 ink configuration around your work. Options include dual CMYK for throughput, expanded-colour arrangements for a broader colour range, and a dedicated white configuration for suitable clear or specialist media. These are alternative setups. White output requires the correct configuration, and media compatibility should be checked for each application. The roll-fed VG4-640 prints onto suitable flexible materials; it is not a rigid flatbed or a direct-to-fabric printer. For production, VersaWorks 7 RIP software is included. Operators can select prepared jobs using the 7-inch touchscreen with Direct Print. The included take-up unit supports longer print-and-cut runs, while perforation sheet cut helps separate output for finishing. Print speed depends on ink configuration, media, quality mode and layers. Roland's stated maximum colour speed is 23.7 m²/h under four-colour CMYK, Generic Vinyl, High Speed, 900 x 600 dpi and four-pass conditions; this figure is not a typical finished-job time. Media and workflow matter as much as machine width. Suitable roll media includes printable wrap films, banner media, poster paper, backlit films, window films and printable heat-transfer materials. Specialist or reflective materials should be tested; lamination, vehicle installation, hemming and eyelets are separate finishing steps where appropriate. Before choosing a setup, compare your largest routine panels, roll weights, ink requirements, workspace and finishing process. The machine measures 2,886 x 748 x 1,415 mm and weighs 189 kg; allow extra clearance for loading, operation and servicing. Tell us what you print and we can help you check the fit, discuss relevant samples or ask whether a demonstration is available.
