Published in January 2019 by KADOKAWA and curated by the Dengeki Game Book Editorial Department, this massive 400-page premium volume acts as a permanent preservation gallery for two decades of breathtaking fantasy artwork. The book chronicles the entire visual evolution of the series, taking fans on an nostalgic journey from the legendary original 1997 debut title Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg all the way to Nelke & the Legendary Alchemists and Atelier Lulua: The Scion of Arland. For serious collectors and Atelier enthusiasts, this is the definitive archive of the franchise’s early-to-mid legacy, mapping out the gorgeous design and magical worlds that shaped the alchemy genre. The book’s structure treats the franchise's legendary character illustrations and promotional art with immense reverence, utilizing a large A4 layout to showcase key promotional visuals, full-page color plates, and dense character galleries. Beyond just a chronological catalog, this official visual collection includes dedicated memory galleries, a detailed character dictionary, and extensive design sheets featuring rough sketches and weapon concept art. It also serves as an invaluable historic document, housing exclusive interviews with the franchise's celebrated character designers alongside specially commissioned, beautiful commemorative tribute illustrations from guest artists. It stands as a true cornerstone anthology that offers a profound look into the multi-generational artistry and imaginative minds behind the games. Originally published exclusively in Japan, this oversized softcover volume features all-Japanese text and has never received a direct English adaptation under this 20th-anniversary banner, making it a highly valued import treasure.
