Tattooed Life (blu ray) standard edition

Tetsuo (Hideki Takahashi, FIGHTING ELEGY), is a low-level yakuza who is double-crossed by his boss and attacked. His younger brother Kenji (Kotobuki Hananomoto, THIS TRANSIENT LIFE), is an aspiring artist with no connections to crime, who comes to his aid and kills Tetsuo's assailant. Fearing repercussions from the yakuza they flee to Manchuria where they risk coming under suspicion of rival gangs. Seijun Suzuki's TATTOOED LIFE (1965) follows yakuza conventions but includes flashes of his later distinctive style, including a visually explosive final act. Presented here in a high-definition digital transfer with a newly improved English subtitle translation.
