1970s David Nieper Pale Blue Cotton and Lace Robe
David Nieper (1931-2021) was a luxury womenswear designer whose namesake shop remains in Derbyshire, England. This frivolous robe was made in the late 1970s and is tailored from a lightweight pale-blue cotton. It has an open front which is trimmed with ruffled cotton and scallop-edge white lace. The sleeves are cropped and have frothy voluminous cuffs formed from stripes of white lace and blue cotton. The robe is unlined. It ties at the waist with a tonal blue cotton tie which threads through loops at the side of the waist. In excellent vintage condition with no issues. Due to the nature of the tie waist this will fit all sizes up to a UK 12-14 or US 8-10 and plenty of smaller sizes if drawn more tightly. MEASUREMENTS BUST - 39 in. (99 cm) WAIST - 44 in.
