Grevillea 'Honey Gem' Grevillea ‘Honey Gem’ is a vigorous Australian native shrub renowned for its spectacular golden-orange, nectar-rich flowers and attractive deeply divided green foliage. The large, showy blooms are produced for an extended period and are highly attractive to native birds, bees and other pollinators. Growing approximately 3–4 m high × 2–3 m wide, ‘Honey Gem’ develops into a large, dense shrub, making it an excellent choice for screening, informal hedging, native gardens and feature planting. Its fast growth and naturally bushy habit make it particularly useful where a colourful privacy screen is required. Position ‘Honey Gem’ performs best in full sun and well-drained soil. Once established, it is relatively drought tolerant and well suited to warm subtropical gardens. Regular pruning can be used to maintain a denser, more compact shape and control its overall size. Growth This moderately fast-growing shrub reaches a mature height of 3-4 meters with a spread of about 2-3 meters, developing a dense, bushy form. Its luminous flowers and attractive foliage make it an excellent choice for creating wildlife-friendly hedges, screening, or as a focal point in mixed plantings. Planting Guide Grevillea 'Honey Gem' grows best in well-drained, fertile soil enriched with organic matter. Plant about 2 meters apart if using as a hedge or screen. For container planting, use a well-draining, native plant potting mix, and position the container in a sunny location. Water thoroughly after planting, and avoid using high-phosphorus fertilisers, as Grevilleas are sensitive to phosphorus.
