Description This coin is the first in the series of $20 Proof silver Tall Ships coins introduced in 2005, and features a spectacular holographic enhancement in addition to the frosted proof cameo finish. The weight of the coin is just over one ounce of .9999 pure silver. Mintage 17,364. HST/GST exempt. The Design: Full rigged three-masted ship, a faithful ocean-going vessel that was used to transport cargo and travelers from Canada all over the world in the 19th century. It was square rigged on all masts in order to coast downwind with the prevailing winds while its fore-and-aft sails enabled the ship to sail closer into the wind.
