11 - 13 & 18 - 20 Sep 16 - 18 & 23 - 25 Oct PURE Yoga Ngee Ann City About the Training Become a Certified Classical Pilates Mat Teacher & Transform Your Career This 110-hour training is a comprehensive and full Classical Mat certification, enabling successful practitioners to teach a classically rigorous Mat Pilates class to a multilevel audience. Participants learn the full sequence of more than 40 exercises according to level, including exercise mechanics and technique, purpose of each exercise, verbal delivery for accurate cuing, and appropriate hands-on facilitation. Learn the alignment principle and purpose of each exercise, in order to deliver meaningful, powerful and educational classes which follow the classical order. Upon successful certification, participants will have the skills to lead effective and dynamic group multilevel classes, integrate portions of mat sequences into private training sessions, and learn adaptive strategies for special populations including Pre/Post Natal; injury recovery and elderly. Course Content • Foundation, Intermediate I & II, Advanced - Exercise Lectures • The Art of Verbal Cuing • The Art of Hands-On Cuing • The Principles of Alignment • Integration Principles and Teaching Applications • Special Populations Course Structure: 110 Hours total I. Sequence Lectures (48 hours) 4 workshops, 3 hours each, across four weekends. Observation hours (20 hours) embedded within the onsite lecture sessions. II. Teaching Technique (12 hours) 4 workshops, 3 hours each III. Master Classes (4 hours) IV. Private Lessons (8 hours)* V. Self Mastery (16 hours)* VI. Supervised Practice Teaching (12hours)* VII. Her recognition of Pilates’ benefits and passion for the discipline led her to embark on intensive training, completing her full Studio certification in 2002. She later studied traditional Pilates through Benjamin Degenhardt’s 360° Pilates in 2016, and received 3rd Generation Classical Pilates certification with Alycea Ungaro’s REAL Pilates in 2018. Heather is a Lead Educator for REAL Pilates, and conducts multiple trainings in Hong Kong and Singapore each year. With a strong business background, Heather has degrees from Johns Hopkins University and Columbia Business School, as well as extensive marketing experience with the Walt Disney Company. She has designed and overseen the buildout of eight Pilates studios in Hong Kong and Singapore; her decades in the Pilates industry have led to an extensive network of connections, global resources and a firm belief in the endless possibilities Pilates offers.
