Kristen Cermele is back with another piece inspired by art history! Meet Qing, an Extreme Factory Customized Pimento. Kristen started with our Pimento sculpture before completely reworking her to be inspired by the Qilin, a part of 17th and 18th century Qing dynasty. Qilins are a part of Chinese mythology and are said to appear with the death or arrival of a good leader. They are a type of Chimera with Chinese-dragon like features, a trait that Kristen represented well in her piece. She took Pimento and raised her head and neck so that Qing’s muzzle is pointing up. Then she added a mane that runs all the way down Qing’s back, before stopping at her tail that ends with a tuff of hair. She has horns added to her head along with cloven hooves. More additions were added to her body to fill out her customizations! After that, Kristen painted Qing an intricate array of colors. From the handpainted scales running down her body to her golden mane, hooves, and horn—this piece is the perfect addition to any art lover or decorator collector. This model is simply breathtaking and so carefully crafted. Qing is finished in satin, and additional finish options are not available.
