Vintage Navajo Silver Stamped Cross Pendant

About the Piece: Here is a vintage Navajo silver cross pendant with fine hand stamped decoration across the entire surface. The stamp work is gently feminine in design. This sweet Navajo cross was previously owned by noted dealer, collector and scholar Martha Hopkins Struever. Marti's collection included a number of cross forms, a symbol interpreted in jewelry, basketry, weavings and carvings across the Indigenous, Hispanic and Anglo traditions of the Southwest. Marti's cross measures 2 3/8" x 1 1/2" and is stamped "Sterling" on the reverse. It hangs from a new sterling silver chain.
