Aloe plicatilis (Fan Aloe) plant, gallon size, organic
Family: Aloe (Asphodelacea) Hardy to Zones 9 to 11. Generally grown indoors as a potted plant or on the summer patio. (Kumara plicatilis) Perennial succulent endemic to the Fynbos region of Western Cape, South Africa. Easy in potted culture, these are nonetheless among the most elegant of all aloes. The sturdy, upright trunk produces in time multiple branches, arching upward, each topped by the characteristic, fleshy fan. I have had visitors to a greenhouse loaded with hundreds of diverse and unusual plants, including scores of different aloe species, who really see nothing but this handsome plant–it is just that engaging. Traditional uses (TSAFM): similar to Aloe vera, although generally used topically only. Skin irritation, wound healing, sunburn. Source of glucomannans. Plant prefers a very fast-draining soil, sun to sun-dappled shade. Protect from frost and sticky fingers. Certified Organically Grown gallon size potted plant will be bare-rooted for shipment–the main photo and the photos of plants in gallon (with hand) are representative of the size of plants that will be received.
